From $400 as start-up capital to a $98k+/month business
I clearly remember the day I was called to meet my ex-boss who had been around for a mere 1 month tell me that I wasn’t doing justice to my role during my probation.
A role that had changed 3 times in six months due to my original boss leaving and the company being down the drain in terms of culture & growth. Toxic 101.
So naturally, I was upset. I tried to plead with them to let me work part-time as I figured out my visa situation.
I was told I had to either completely switch my role and work in a different language (which wasn’t what I signed up for and I wasn’t comfortable in) OR I had to leave effective immediately.
So I left.
And I promised myself I would never put myself in a position again where I “needed” a job. Or any one else’s approval for what I was worth.
I was done people telling me what my worth was.
I was going to build my own damn table and decide my own fate.
which is when I jumped into creating & selling digital products full-time.. with $400 as startup capital
3.5 years fast-forward to today, when I see that we’re on track to reach 1M in revenue with 1 full-time employee (me!) totally bootstrapped, and in a country notoriously unwelcoming to entrepreneurs and having to figure out every single thing on my own – I know I made the right decision.
If you don’t bet on yourself, who will?
I stopped waiting for people to hand me shit or make my dreams happen a long time ago.
No one owes you anything.
It’s you against you.
So stand up, brush the dirt off your shoulders and march forward.
Your dreams are waiting for you to step the fuck up.
