Let me tell you my story
I vividly recall the day my ex-boss, who had only been with the company for a month, called me in to inform me that I wasn’t meeting expectations in my role during the probationary period.
This role had undergone three changes in six months due to my original boss leaving and the company experiencing a decline in culture and growth—Toxic 101.
Naturally, I was upset. I attempted to negotiate for part-time work while I sorted out my visa situation.
They presented me with an ultimatum: either switch to a completely different role working in a language I wasn’t comfortable with (not what I signed up for) or leave immediately.
So, I chose to leave.
In that moment, I vowed to never find myself in a position where I “needed” a job or sought anyone else’s approval for my worth. I was finished with people dictating my value.
I decided to build my own damn table and carve out my own fate.
That’s when I dived into creating and selling digital products full-time, armed with just $400 as startup capital
Fast forward 3.5 years to today, and I’m proud to say we’re on track to surpass $1M in revenue with just one full-time employee (me!), completely bootstrapped. In a country notorious for being unwelcoming to entrepreneurs, I had to figure out every single thing on my own. I know I made the right decision.
I stopped waiting for people to hand me opportunities or make my dreams happen a long time ago.
No one owes you anything.
It’s you against you.
So stand up, brush the dirt off your shoulders, and march forward.
The world won’t end if one day you decide to work on your dreams. Your dreams are waiting for you to step the heck up.
